Almost 19 thousand self-employed people in Galway avail of treatment benefits

Galway Bay newsroom - Almost 19 thousand self-employed people in Galway have availed of benefits under the Treatment Benefit Scheme since it was introduced in 2017.

Minister of State and Galway East T.D Ciaran Cannon says the scheme provides dental, optical and hearing services to qualified people.

From November, job seekers benefit will also be extended to the self-employed.

Minister Cannon says small businesses have been the life blood of local communities and should be supported.
