Galway Bay fm newsroom - AIB says it's working to resolve issues at its branch in Gort - which has recently been forced to close its doors during working hours on several occassions.
In a statement, the bank says it's addressing temporary staffing issues by redeploying staff to the branch, and is in the process of hiring more staff.
It adds that while it does everything it can to keep the full branch service open, it apologises to customers who have been impacted by intermittent services.
AIB also advises that customers can avail of services in AIB branches in Loughrea, Oranmore and Ennis, as well as AIB cash services at local post offices.
Speaking to Keith Finnegan on Galway Talks, local councillor Gerry Finnerty says it's an excellent bank with excellent staff - but locals in Gort deserve better than the current situation.
