Galway Bay fm newsroom - An additional educational psychological post has been announced for Galway by the Department of Education.
The National Education Psychological Service, NEPS, works with primary and post-primary schools, and is concerned with learning, behaviour, and social and emotional development.
Two posts have been vacant in the west over the past year with students instead using a panel of private practitioners paid for by the NEPS.
The two posts have now been filled for the Galway area, with staff now being allocated schools for the new academic year.
Also, a third post has been announced in order to widen the coverage of the service.
