Galway Bay fm newsroom - An action plan has been put in place in a bid to deal with water supply issues in Roundstone, Connemara.
Irish Water says increased seasonal demand on water supplies in the area has led to pressure problems for some customers in the area.
Businesses in Roundstone are becoming increasingly concerned over a water shortage in the area and the impact it's having on tourism.
Irish Water, the County Council and local businesses have now agreed an action plan to help solve the issues.
This will involve the turning off of a booster station from 12 noon to 6pm daily to help preserve water and ensure a continuous supply for the majority of customers during peak business hours.
This will lead to increased water pressures for customers in the village during these times, but customers in areas surrounding the village may experience a reduction in pressure.
Irish Water and Galway County Council say they will monitor the situation over the coming weeks.
The plan follows leak detection and network reconfiguration works which were undertaken last weekend.
