Galway Bay fm newsroom - 94 per cent of the Western region's labour force is in employment.
The Western region's labour force is made up of all people in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon between the ages of 15 and 74 who are able to work.
The latest Labour Force Survey published by the Central Statistics Office shows over 213-thousand people in the region are employed while 14-thousand-300 are without work.
This reflects a decrease in unemployment since the same period last year of 1-thousand-100 people.
Nationally, the unemployment figure has also seen a decrease with 130-thousand people without work across the country - nearly 14-thousand less than in 2018.
