7,000 patients waited on trolleys at UHG so far this year

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Approximately 7,000 people have waited on trolleys at UHG so far this year.

New figures released from the INMO show that 6,870 people were awaiting a bed at UHG in 2019.

Nationally, over 100 thousand people went without a bed from January to November, the second time in history the figure has passed 100,000.

The new figures follow a very difficult month for the Emergency Department in Galway, with a new high of 71 patients awaiting beds on a single day in November.
