Dublin has more than 4,000 on job seeker's allowance for a decade, while Cork, Donegal, Louth and Wexford match Galway with at least 700 each.
According to the Department of Social Protection, nationwide there are 15,000 people continuously on jobseeker's allowance for a decade.
