Mayor calls for civic amenity site on west side of city to reduce risk of dumping

Galway Bay fm newsroom- The Mayor of Galway is making a fresh call for a civic amenity site to be introduced on the west side of the city.

The city council currently provides a facility in Liosbán for householders to dispose of items such as glass, oil, batteries and waste electrical items.

Mayor McNelis says access to the Liosbán site is becoming
increasingly difficult for people who live on the west side of the city.

The Labour councillor says bottle banks at Western Distributor Road also need to be emptied more regularly.
