Galway Bay fm newsroom - 34 temporary beds are in place for rough sleepers across Galway this winter.
It's part of the national Cold Weather Initiative.
Nationally, 200 additional permanent beds are being provided to keep people off the streets.
Galway East TD and Junior Minister Ciaran Cannon says given the cold snap that's been forecast, it's especially important to ensure rough sleepers have a warm place to stay.
