Galway Bay fm newsroom - Older people and people with disabilities in Galway will be able to avail of funding from a pot of 3 million euro allocated to the city and county councils.
Minister for Housing, Simon Coveney is making 1.9 million euro available to the county council and 1.1 million euro to the city council for housing adaptations for older people and people with a disability.
The type of works which can be carried out in private homes will improve mobility aid such as stair lifts and access ramps.
Grants of up to 30 thousand euro are available for an adaptation, up to 8 thousand euro for housing aid for older people and up to 6 thousand euro for mobility aids.
