Galway Bay fm newsroom - A new report has shown that 282 animals in Galway tested positive for Bovine Tuberculosis in the first quarter of 2020.
The figures come from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
Out of the 2,293 herds which were tested in Galway, Bovine Tuberculosis was detected in 61 herds.
This represents a herd incidence of 2.66 per cent in Galway - while the national average stands at 3.26 per cent.
The highest rates of herd incidence in the country are in Counties Wicklow and Dublin however, these areas combined represent just 1.7 per cent of the national herd.
