Galway Bay fm newsroom - 27 people were killed in workplace incidents across Galway between 2012 and 2021.
That's according to the Health and Safety Authority, which says 481 people were killed nationwide during the 10 year period.
So far this year, 7 people have lost their lives at workplaces around the country.
It comes as today marks international Worker's Memorial Day, to remember all of those killed or injured in work-related incidents.
A special commemorative ceremony is being held at the Garden of Rememberance in Dublin to mark the occassion.
CEO of the Health and Safety Authority, Sharon McGuinness, says it's an important day for families and workplaces.
