23 Corncrakes spotted in Galway this year

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Irish concrake numbers have increased by 5 percent from last year - with 23 birds seen in Galway.

197 calling male corncrakes have been recorded in Ireland this year - compared to 188 in 2021.

The increase in numbers has been credited to the Corncrake LIFE project - which was set up last year to improve the conservation status of the bird.
