200K for community groups near Galway Wind Park in Connemara

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Over 200 thousand euro in funding has been awarded to community groups located around Galway Wind Park in Connemara.

The allocation will benefit 74 groups under the new Local Community Fund for Ireland's largest wind farm at Cloosh Valley.

The projects are focused on energy efficiency, safety, environmental sustainability, social sustainability, recreation and tourism and education and skills development.

They include the upgrading of gym and leisure equipment at Oughterard Leisure Centre and upgrades at the Clann Family Resource Centre in Oughterard.
