20% rise in COVID-19 cases at UHG

Galway Bay fm newsroom - There are 84 COVID-19 patients receiving care at UHG today, a 20% rise since this day last week.

Although the city acute hospital is experiencing a sharp spike with the largest number of cases nationwide, the numbers in ICU have remained stable, with just one patient receiving critical care today.

There are 13 COVID-19 patients in hospital at Portiuncula in Ballinasloe, with two in the ICU.

Last evening, 10,753 new PCR cases of covid 19 were confirmed and 4,208 positive antigen tests were logged through the HSE portal.
