1,500 new jobs to be announced for Athenry this morning by US multinational

Galway Bay fm newsroom – 1,500 new jobs are to be announced for Athenry this morning by a major US multinational.

Dexcom – headquartered in San Diego, California – is set to establish a major European hub at IDA lands in Athenry.

The firm develops, manufactures and distributes equipment for diabetes management.

It’s understood there’ll be one thousand permanent high tech graduate and technician positions over the next five years

A further 500 jobs will be created during the construction of the new facility.

The investment is estimated to be worth several hundred million euro and an announcement event is taking place in Athenry later this morning.
