Galway included in Status Yellow fog warning this morning

Galway is included in a Status Yellow fog warning this morning, with drivers warned to take extra care.

The warning came into effect last evening, with Met Éireann saying dense fog is leading to impaired visibility in much of the country.

The alert is affecting all counties bar Dublin, Meath, Louth and Wicklow – and is due to remain in place until 11 o’clock.

Climatologist Cathal Nolan from Ireland’s Weather Channel says dense fog patches are leading to very poor driving conditions in some places:
