Galway Bay fm newsroom - 130 incidents of fraud have been recorded in the county so far this year.
Deception is the most common fraud type with 38 incidents recorded.
This is followed by 28 incidents of forgery and 21 incidents of shopping or online auction fraud.
There were 15 incidents of phishing fraud and nine incidents of account take over fraud.
The figures were provided by Gardai at a meeting of the county joint policing committee this week.
