Galway Bay fm newsroom - 13 further cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Galway.
The recent spike brings the city and county total number of cases to 607.
Last evening, the HPSC was notified of 188 confirmed cases of the virus nationwide.
76 cases were notified in Dublin, 25 in Cork, 21 in Donegal, 16 in Kildare, 13 in Galway, seven in Roscommon and seven in Waterford, with the remaining 23 cases spread across 12 counties.
The head of the HSE, Paul Reid, says he's "very concerned" at the increasing numbers of people being admitted to hospital with Covid-19.
90 are currently hospitalised - a fourfold increase compared to a month ago.
The numbers in ICU has also more than doubled over the same period to 19.
