105% increase in Galway drivers signing up for FREENOW taxi training

Galway Bay fm newsroom – There has been a 105 percent increase in the number of Galway drivers signing up for taxi driver training.

Taxi app FREENOW has reported a massive surge in interest in its training programme in the county.

61 percent of Galway drivers who took part in the programme passed the NTA taxi entry test, the highest rate since 2017.

Nationally, research found that over half of taxi drivers would recommend a career in the sector, while one in four joined the fleet in the past two years.
