Galway Bay fm newsroom - Over 100 thousand euro in funding has been announced for the redevelopment of Tuam Stadium.
Deputy Sean Canney says the funding has been allocated for the first time under the Government's Capital Sports Grant Funding for Regional Projects.
It marks a major step forward for significant plans to redevelop the stadium - including the construction of new changing and toilet facilities.
The latest allocation of €111 thousand will supplement funds of around €160 thousand raised locally for the €400 thousand project.
