Oranmore Maree claimed their first county Minor A football title since 2005, and only their second ever, after a nail-biting 2-10 to 2-9 win over Claregalway in a thrilling final played in Duggan Park, Ballinasloe last night. Two first-half goals by Man of the Match Niall Óg De Paor helped Oranmore Maree lead 2-6 to 1-6 at half-time. Still, Claregalway came within a whisker of taking the game to extra time late on, but two opportunities from both a penalty and a '45 went astray, and the winners held on for a deserved win.
