Next Sunday the Galway Senior Football Championship County Final in Tuam Stadium at 2.15 pm will see Corofin and Maigh Cuilinn renew their rivalry as they clash in the decider for the second successive year. Last year, Corofin prevailed by 1-11 to 1-9 in Pearse Stadium and they go into Sunday's final in Tuam Stadium as favourites (8/13f) to win their 23rd title and move within just two of Tuam Stars at the top of the Roll of Honour. Maigh Cuilinn have a recent history of defeating Corofin as they prevailed in Round 3 of the 2022 Championship by 1-14 to 1-12 but they will have to overcome the hand of history to add to the titles won in 2020 and 2022 as Corofin have won 14 out of the 16 County Senior finals they have appeared in since the year 2000, only losing to Killererin (2010) and Mountbellew Moylough (2021).
