This week on Galway Talks John Morley is teaming up with Galway City Council to let you know about the new way to pay for parking in and around Galway City. The new Parking App is now available. Motorists can pay for on-street parking and Galway City Council car parks from the comfort of the driver’s seat using the free ‘Galway City Parking’ app, or at www.GalwayCityParking.ie
To celebrate the launch of the new app John is giving listeners a chance to win €100 Free Parking in Galway City Tues, Wed and Thurs. On Friday one lucky listener will win €300 free parking. Tune in each day this week for all the details and a chance to win!
Motorists in Galway City now have a choice of payment options including:
- Pay by App – download the ‘Galway City Parking’ app from your usual app store, and pay by debit or credit card;
- Pay Online – pay by debit or credit card on GalwayCityParking.ie;
- Pay by Phone – call 0818 300 161.
- Payzone Retail Outlets – pay with cash or card in 34 retail outlets in Galway City;
- Pay and Display Machines – pay with cash in the 90 on-street P&D machines.
There is no charge for paying for parking on the Galway City Parking app or at GalwayCityParking.ie and parking charges remain the same.

Pay in Store
You can pay for your parking at a Payzone store, look for the pink Payzone sign on the shop front.
- Let the store assistant know the zone you are parked in, and your car registration.
- The store assistant will take payment for the parking duration you have requested.
- Ensure you get a receipt before leaving the store to confirm your transaction.
Use Galway City Council Parking to pay for spaces in Galway City where paid parking is in operation. This service offers user friendly and instant parking from your phone, computer and even your car dashboard!
