Sr. Martina Morris, Presentation Sisters, Athenry, Co. Galway and formerly of Carnmore, Co Galway. During her Religious life Sr. Martina worked in Galway, Shantalla and Riverside Galway, Tuam, Zambia and Kildare. She is predeceased by her parents James and Bridget, brothers Conor, Martin, and Paddy and sister-in-law Eileen.


She will be sadly missed by her loving sister Sr. Pauline (Galway), sister-in-law Lillie (Dublin), nieces Noreen and Bríd, nephews Pearse, Gerard, Conor and Séamus, her Presentation Community, Athenry and the North East Province.


Sr. Martina will repose at Gardner’s Funeral Home, Athenry (H65 EV80) on Tuesday, November 21st, from 4:00 p.m. Removal at 6:00 p.m. to the Church of The Assumption, Athenry. (H65 PV27). Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Bohermore, Galway.


Mass will be streamed live on the following link and on parish radio 106.5fm.

  2. Sr. Pauline & extended family, we are all so very sorry to hear of Sr.Martina’s passing. She was always so lovely to us, always ready to chat & listen to us…may she rest in peace, thinking of all of you, Noria(Rea), Cathy, caroline Higgins.

    She was always in good humour and brought lots of joy ,fun and inspiration to pupils and staff alike.I had the privilege of working with her in the Presentation. She spoke fondly of her time on the missions and of her awe at congregations speaking in tongues. Heaven has gained a star.
