LINNANE Micheál T. Crannagh, Gort, Co. Galway. Peacefully in University Hospital Galway on the 25th of September, 2024, after a short illness bravely bourne. Current Vice President of Gort Hurling Club and former Chairman of Gort Hurling Club, Vice Chairman of Galway County Hurling board and winning manager of Galway Intermediate and Junior all Ireland titles.

 

Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Mona, brothers Aidan, Brendan, Colie and Patrick, niece Mary and by his parents Celia and Mick.

 

Cherished and much loved, Micheál will be sadly missed by his loving partner Rose Buckely (Limerick), forever loved by his sons Michael and Gary and daughter Mags, daughters-in-law Kathleen & Lysel by his adored grandchildren Caoimhe, Conor, Hugo, Senan and Corrin. Fondly remembered by his brother’s Johnny (Ballaghdereen), Martin (Belmullet), Sylvie (Gort), Gerry (Turloughmore), sister’s Mary Rochford (Ashbourne), Sheila Moriarty (Donegal), Anne Fayne (Luton U.K), Carmel Brady (Dublin) and Bernie Greally (Claregalway), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, by the Buckley and Flavin family’s especially Rose’s children and their partners Caroline & Philip, Katie & Mattie, Tomas and Noreen and Rose’s grandchildren, relatives, by the extended Linnane familys, great neighbours, many friends and by all his loyal comrades in Gort Hurling Club and Galway GAA.

Micheál will lie in repose in Seomra Ciúin, within Gort Town Hall, Church Street, Gort, (H91 E0C8) on Saturday evening, September 28th, from 6pm with removal at 8pm to St. Colman’s Church Gort. Requiem Mass on Sunday, 29th of September, at 12 noon. Micheál will be laid to rest afterwards in Kilmacduagh Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Cancer Research.

 

The family deeply appreciates your kindness and support at this time. We wish to thank all who cared for Micheál during his illness especially Dr. Richard Joyce and his staff at Gort medical centre and all at Gilmartins pharmacy. Finally, a special word of thanks to our wonderful family, neighbours and friends for all they have done to help us in these difficult days.
