Joy Lally (née Wellwood), Caheronaun, Loughrea and formerly Bride Street, Loughrea, Co. Galway
Who passed away peacefully on Monday 9th September 2024, in her 97th year, surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff of Sliabh Aughty Unit, St. Brendan’s Community Nursing Home.
Predeceased by her loving husband Tommy, her parents Arthur J. & Aggie Wellwood, her sister Peggy Branagan and her son-in-law Tom Browne.
Joy will be very sadly missed by her children Mary (Lawless, Corrandulla), Bernadette (Browne, Corrandulla), Brian (Loughshinny, Dublin), Des (Ballyinahinch, Connemara), her loving and devoted sister Marie, her son-in-law Albert, daughters-in-law Jackie and Clare, grandchildren Jason, Rebecca, Gavin, Jack, Rachel, Adam, Daisy and Annalise, great-grandchildren Ben, Sophie, Jonah and Caelan, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and her many friends.
Joy will lie in Repose in Kilboy’s Funeral Home (H62 KF63) on Wednesday 11th September from 5pm – 7pm, followed by removal to St. Brendan’s Cathedral, Loughrea.
Joy’s Requiem Mass will take place in St. Brendan’s Cathedral, Loughrea on Thursday 12th September at 12.30pm, following by burial in the Carmelite Abbey Cemetery.
Joy’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to all their extended family, neighbours & friends for all their kindness and support at this very sad time.
