It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of John Roche, who passed away in Sobell House Hospice on Monday, 20, May 2024 aged 86. Dearly beloved brother of Jim, Aidan, Paul and Margaret. He will be greatly missed by all his family and by all those who knew and loved him. John was a much-respected tutor on the history of science. He will remembered be by Harris Manchester College, for his kindness to newly appointed academics just starting out on their careers.
A funeral Service has been celebrated for John on Tuesday, 18 June, at Greyfriars Church, Iffley Road, Oxford, followed by a Committal Service which has been recorded and will be available on the link below from 22 June, 2024. As John requested, his ashes will be laid to rest with his parents in the family plot at the New cemetery, Bohermore, Galway on Monday, 24 June, at 2 p.m.
