On 19 December, Jacko died peacefully at Caiseal Geal Nursing Home, Galway. Pre-deceased in November 2022 by his wife Mary and also by his siblings Willie, Stephen and infant John Oliver.
Deeply mourned and sadly missed by his sons Stephen, Seán (Carnmore), Joe, twins Liam (Monivea) and Edel and Paul (Oughterard), sister Mary-Ann Reilly, daughters-in-law Tanya, Catriona, Donna, Michelle and Jenny, grandchildren Natasha, Darren, Ciara, Shauna, Leah, Laoise, Aodán, Elon, Edel, Johanna, Calum, Lochlann and Isla, and by the extended Byrne and O’Reilly, family and friends.
Reposing at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) on Thursday, 21 December from 5 p.m. with Removal at 6.30 p.m. to St. Joseph’s Church, Presentation Road. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Jacko on Friday, 22 December, at 11 a.m. and following Mass he will be laid to rest in Rahoon cemetery.
