The death has occurred of Jaqueline (Jackie) Whyte (née Harlow)

Whyte’s shop, Mullagh, Loughrea, Co. Galway

 

Predeceased by May Dowling, Padraig and Una Harlow and her twin siblings Catherine and Denis.

 

Whyte Jacqueline (Jackie) passed away peacefully at home in Mullagh, Loughrea, Co. Galway, late of The Square, Roscommon Town on the 6th of August 2024 with her loving family.

 

She will be forever missed by her loving husband Bernard.

 

She will be deeply mourned and missed, but never forgotten by her daughter Angela, sons Alan and Conor, son-in-law Kenneth Sheil and Carol McCarthy (Alan’s partner).

 

Her grandchildren who she adored Eliza Whyte, Callum and Lachlan Jack Shiel.

 

Sadly missed by her sisters Marita Hegarty and Loretta Hand and her brother Padraig Harlow, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended Whyte, Harlow and Dowling families.

 

She will be remembered fondly by her very best friends, neighbours, the Mullagh community and loyal customers, many who became great friends down through the years. Lastly the Mullagh Camogie and GAA club.

 

Jackie will lie in repose in Kilboy’s Funeral Home (H62 KF63) on Thursday 8th August from 5.30pm to 7pm.

 

Jackie's funeral cortege will arrive to St. Brendan’s Church, Mullagh, for Requiem Mass on Friday 9th August at 11am, followed by cremation in Shannon Crematorium at 2pm.

 

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

 

The Whyte, Harlow and Dowling families would like to sincerely thank all the kind staff at the oncology unit at Portiuncula and Galway University Hospital, the Galway Hospice in-patient and community team, the night nurses from the Irish Cancer Society, the Loughrea Public Health Nurses and to Dr. Eilis Foran and her team of the Lakeshore Medical Team, Loughrea, who all took such great care of our dear Wife, Mam and Nanni.

 

Flowers or donations to Galway Hospice or Irish Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
