On October 8, 2023 James (Jimmy) died following a long illness borne with great dignity, fortitude and character in the wonderful care of the Galway Hospice and surrounded by his loving family. Pre-deceased by his parents John and Margaret (née Varley), brother Tom (USA) and sisters Mary, Peg and Patricia Doran.
Deeply mourned and always loved by his devoted wife Dolores (née Naughton) and by his much-loved children, David and his wife Niamh (Tullykyne, Moycullen), John and his wife Bernadette (Gort-na-Bró, Rahoon), and by Claire and her husband Conor McManus (Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare). Very sadly missed also by his adoring grandchildren Senan, Aoibhín, Katie, Lauren, Sadie, Colm, Seán and Páidí, his faithful sister Ann and caring brothers John (Ballinlough, Cork) and William (Connecticut, USA), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Reposing at his home on Cappagh Road (H91YC9H) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on this Wednesday, 11 October. Removal to St. Joseph’s Church, Presentation Road on Thursday, 12 October, to arrive for Requiem Mass at 11 a.m. Following Mass Jimmy will be laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery.
