Eileen died peacefully, in her 96 th year, on 8 February, 2024 in the excellent care of the medical and nursing staff of St. Joseph’s and St Theresa’s wards at Galway University Hospital. Eileen was the dearly beloved wife of the late Patrick and was also predeceased by her parents Thomas and Nell, her brother Fr. Joe CSsR and sister Margaret.

Eileen was the much loved and loving mother of Joe, Brian, Padraig, Owen, Helen and Barbara, grandmother of Órlaith, Caitriona, Stephen, Ronan, Paul, Louis, Anna, Ria, Yvonne, Carlos, Thomas and Seán and great-grandmother of Aoife and Séaghdha.

Deeply mourned by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law Mary J., Mary B., Mary Kate and Caroline and sons-in-law Jerry and Paul. Also sadly missed by sister in law Annie Melia, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the O’ Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91 V1K8) on Sunday, 11 February, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Eileen on Monday, 12 February at 11.00 a.m. at the Church of Christ the King, Salthill (H91 T8F5). Following Mass Eileen will be laid to rest with her late husband in 'Lisheen' cemetery, Ballybrit (close to Eircode H91 W1RV).
