Des died peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of the Galway Hospice in the early hours of Saturday, 3 August, 2024.

 

Predeceased by his parents Mary and Joseph and his sister Joan.

 

Deeply loved and mourned by his wife Kathleen, children and grandchildren and by the extended Browne and Hickey family, neighbours and many friends.

 

Reposing at the O’ Flaherty Funeral Parlour, (H91V1K8) Munster Avenue Galway on Wednesday, 7 August from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Removal on Thursday, 8 August to the Church of Christ the King, Salthill to arrive for Requiem Mass therein at 11.00 a.m.

Private Cremation to follow. House Private.

 

"Fair ye well old Corrib River,

Fair ye well sweet Corrib Lake,

you will both be here forever,

soon we all our leave must take"

 

No flowers by request please.

Memorial donations if desired, will be gratefully accepted by the Galway Hospice.
