On Friday, 11 October 2024, Barry slipped away peacefully at the Galway Clinic, following a short illness, surrounded by his dearly loved wife Kay and children. A wonderful character who will be remembered fondly by all.
Predeceased by his parents John and Martina and by his brother Dermot.
Deeply mourned by his wife and children Karen, Gillian and Ronan, sister Rosemary, by his adored grandchildren Odhran, Briain, Laoise and Tiernan, Coralie, Ellen and Liam, Marlie, Jolie and Sebastian. He will be sadly missed also by his sons-in-law Colm Fahy and Andy Hart, sister-in-law Pauline, brother-in-law Greer, the extended Smyth and O’Brien family, neighbours, retired colleagues’ and lovely friends.
Reposing at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue on Monday, 14 October from 5 p.m. with Removal at 6.30 p.m. to Galway Cathedral. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Barry on Tuesday, 15 October at 12 noon. Private Cremation to follow on Wednesday, 16 October 2024.
