Galway West candidate Gráinne Seoige is calling for immediate action after the weekend's mudslide on a road between Leenaun and Maum.
Works have been ongoing to restore the damage to several roads across the county, with the R336 blocked in the aftermath of Storm Bert.
The Fianna Fáil candidate has raised concerns about the vulnerability of the Connemara road network as a result of the road-blockage.
She says measures need to be taken to ensure the situation is not repeated as the road is a crucial artery for Connemara communities.
