Public share opinions on new pedestrian and cycle bridge at Salmon Weir

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Thousands of people have tried out the new Salmon Weir pedestrian and cycleway bridge, just hours after it’s official opening

The new bridge over the Corrib was officially opened by Mayor of Galway Clodagh Higgins and Transport Minister Eamon Ryan this afternoon.

The 85 metre long structure is the first new crossing over the River Corrib in over 30 years, and will ease pressure on the existing narrow bridge.

Sarah Slevin is down there to find out what people think.
