Galway Bay fm newsroom – University of Galway is leading a European project to develop new biodegradable vascular implants.

The university is joining 18 international research and academic partners on the Horizon Europe funded project.

Biodegradable materials gradually degrade when implanted in the body.

They have the potential to form the next-generation of endovascular stents which can reduce complications in the devices.
