World renowned French author launches French collection at city library

Galway Bay fm newsroom – World renowned French author Michel Déon is in Galway this afternoon, where he has opened a new French Literature collection at the city library.

Up to 50 members of Galway’s French community have gathered at the library this afternoon for the event, which was organised by the French Honorary consul for Galway, Catherine Gagneux.

96 year old Michel Déon and his wife Chantal have donated 450 French books for use in Galway’s library system.

Speaking to Galway Bay fm news this afternoon, Michel Déon says reading is an excellent way to broaden the mind.
