Galway Bay fm newsroom – Recruitment is underway to fill some of the 160 jobs announced for the city by a US-based multi-national.
Online retailer Wayfair officially opened a new 30 thousand square foot facility on the Tuam Road today to replace its previous base at Mervue Business Park.
Pool tables, playstation 4s, bean bags, pitch and putt and an outdoor terrace – just some of the colorful features of the staff canteen at the new Wayfair building.
The ribbon was cut at the new facility at the Tuam road shortly before 11am – and the Boston-based firm has wasted no time in expanding its operations with recruitment already underway.
Renate Kohlmann, Wayfair’s site manager for Galway, says the bulk of the roles will be in sales and services with a particular focus on European languages and they’re open to everyone:
More specialised roles include IT services and finance – and it’s expected that all 160 jobs will be filled over the next three years, which will bring the Galway workforce to almost 400 people.
