Proposals sought for Irish Language Plan for Galway City

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A consultant is being sought for the development of an Irish Language Plan for Galway City.

A new steering group - Coiste Stiúrtha Pleanála Teanga Gaillimh - was created by Galway City Council and Gaillimh le Gaeilge to oversee the plan's delivery.

They are now looking for a consultant to create a proposal for a plan for the period of 2019 to 2026.

Gaillimh le Gaeilge's Bríd Ní Chonghóile says it is hoped a consultant will be in place by the end of January and that the plan will complete by October 2018.

According to Bríd Ní Chonghóile the plan will aim to encourage more businesses and organisations to offer services in Irish.
