President unable to attend 20th anniversary of Town Hall Theatre

Galway Bay fm newsroom – President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins will be unable to attend next month’s 20th anniversary of the Town Hall Theatre.

The gala event on February 1st, will spark a year-long celebration of the arts to mark the milestone.

The venue at courthouse square and the performance space at Dyke Road have attracted audiences of more than 2 million since the opening in 1996.

President Higgins, who was very involved in the establishment of the facilities, had hoped to attend the festivities but has sent his apologies.
