The Ireland Senior Women’s Squad are to face more American opposition ahead of the FIBA European Championships for Small Countries.

Mark Scannell’s squad will take on a team from the Catholic University of America (Washington, DC) at the NUI Kingfisher on Saturday at 6pm.

The Catholic University Cardinals compete in the Landmark Conference (Affiliated with NCAA’S Division III) where they reached the Championship final in 2015-2016. It was the fourth time in five seasons they contested the decider having won in 2012, 2013 and 2015. Their 17-10 record for this season included a conference record 11-5.

17 players make the trip to Ireland including Michelle Desantis, who was been named First Team All-Landmark for the last two seasons. Staff is led by Head Coach Matthew Donohue.
