Galway Bay fm newsroom – A new investment plan for Gaeltacht areas could create a significant number of jobs in the Galway Gaeltacht.
Over 70 Gaeltacht and Irish Language groups from across Ireland are gathering in Dublin this afternoon to launch a general election drive.
Galway West TD Sean Kyne is among a number of politicians discussing an all-island investment plan which could see the creation of over 1,160 jobs.
The plan also aims to provide a variety of opportunities for the public to use the Irish language.
The community groups and organisations behind the plan are looking for commitments from public representatives to act on its recommendations.
The document also outlines the need for senior ministers to be appointed to act on behalf of the Irish language and the Gaeltacht in the Republic and in Northern Ireland.
The plan is being launched in Dublin’s Mansion House today.
