Man released and file to be sent to DPP over Mervue death

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A man has been released without charge and a file is to be sent to the DPP over the death of a man in a stabbing incident in the city.

39-year-old Christoper McGrath died after being stabbed at a house on Cardinal Cushing Road in Mervue at around 4 o’clock yesterday morning (Sun)

Mr. McGrath, who’s not a city native but from County Galway, is understood to have lived at the house where the incident took place.

A man in his 60s, from the city, was arrested in connection with the incident – he was  released without charge from Mill Street station a short time ago.

A file will now be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
