Local county cllr says politicians should have qualifications

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A county councillor, who also works as a barrister, says a certain level of qualifications should be a pre-requisite to becoming a politician.

Councillor James Charity says that recent flooding shows that poor planning decisions and zoning are partially responsible and that politicians should have competency to perform a job.

The Independent councillor also says that party affiliation and nepotism need to be stamped out.
