Junior Minister says Loughrea job announcement is good news for county economy

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The OPW minister says today’s job announcement in Loughrea is good news for the economic future of the county.

60 new jobs are being announced for the town today, as Glan Agua and MEIC Ltd open their new offices.

The waste-water company, which currently employs 63 people, is moving to the bigger premises in Loughrea from its original base in Ballinasloe.

The new jobs will be created over five years.

The official announcement will be made by OPW Minister and Galway east Independent TD Sean Canney at Railway House, Station Road, Loughrea at 1 this afternoon.

The Portuguese Ambassador to Ireland and IDA CEO Martin Shanahan will be in attendance.

Junior Minister Canney says announcements like this are a good sign for the economic future of the county.
