Irish Water progresses upgrade of Leenaun treatment plant

Galway Bay Fm newsroom- Irish Water is progressing the upgrade of the water treatment plant in Leenaun.

The utility has applied to the County Council for planning permission to upgrade the water treatment plant building and to provide a new reservoir.

There is currently a boil water notice in place in Leenaun, amid cryptosporidium fears, which is not expected to be lifted until next year.

A decision on the upgrade of the water treatment plant in Leenaun is expected from the Council next month.
