How You Can Do Some Good For Daffodil Day 2016

#DaffodilDay
On Friday, March 11th, The Irish Cancer Society’s largest annual fundraising event, Daffodil Day, will take place across the country.
So many of us are effected by cancer every year and the money raised on Daffodil Day goes to much needed research, providing information, support and services, increasing cancer awareness and more. There are so many simple ways that you can do your part this Friday to do some good and help fund all these important services:
- A free National Cancer Helpline with a team of specialist cancer nurses offer support and advice
- Free home-care nursing service
- Night Nursing for families who are nursing a seriously ill relative with cancer at home
- Hospital based cancer liaison nurses
- Child psychology and play therapy services
- Cancer Nurse Education
So what can you do to help?
Get out on the streets of your area and volunteer!
A few hours of your time selling daffodils and pins can make a huge difference. You’d be surprised how much it can brighten your day and how happy people are to help.
Host your own Daffodil Day Event
Teaming up with your neighbours and friends in your home, school or community can make fundraising more fun and can get the Daffodil Day message across to bigger groups.
Donation Box at your work
Another way you can help is by having a donation box at your work or business. This can encourage co-workers and customers alike to donate to the Irish Cancer Society.
Donate Directly
Not all of us have time to volunteer or host our own event. But you can donate directly via the Irish Cancer Society’s website.
Be sure to share the link across your social pages and with friends and family so that you can spread the word about a great cause.
