Dunmore to Tuam road closed as fallen trees affect roads across Galway

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Motorists across Galway are being urged to exercise caution on the roads this morning as trees are down at a number of locations following severe overnight weather conditions.
The road between Tuam and Dunmore is closed at Brownsgrove as fallen trees and wires are currently blocking the road.
Diversions are in place and Gardai are advising motorists that it may be a number of hours before the route is re-opened.
A road traffic accident has also occured between Barnadearg and Tuam, and emergency services are at the scene.
Gardai say no injuries are being reported in the single vehicle incident.
Meanwhile, trees are also down at a number of other roads across the county – at Clonbrock Ahascragh, Ballydavid Athenry, and between Cosain Cross and Monivea.
Drivers are being urged to take caution on the roads this morning as status yellow weather alerts remain in place until 10 this morning.
