Galway Bay fm newsroom – The site is located at the end of the cul-de-sac of Mount Eaton which is zoned for community facilities and contains a convent.
Residential use is permitted in certain cases on surplus institutional land where some of the original open character of the land is retained and a minimum of 20 per cent of the original site area is reserved for communal open space.

One condition stipulates that the vehicle entrances to the sites must be reduced to a width of three metres.
Also the roofs of the houses must be black in colour and a financial contribution of more than €32,000 must be paid to the council towards the cost of public services to facilitate the development at Taylor’s Hill Road.
